What’s New: Telling Transit Stories highlighted four new acquisitions, from a tiny pocket map, train and trolley signage, and large scale maps (created by Jane Charasyn for Unimark).

Inspired by the storefronts in an early 1900s Astor Place cyanotype featured in Telling Transit Stories, koolgirlposse applied a collage of period appropriate typography throughout the show.

With the limited items to be displayed, koolgirlposse took the opportunity to layer the featured objects with duotone photo murals to give their stories greater presence in the gallery, allowing visitors to see details at scale that might have gone unnoticed. The effect successfully filled the gallery with tone on tone color, patterns and textures that added context to the objects they supported.
