With the sunsetting of the MTA’s MetroCard, the New York Transit Museum paid homage to artists using the ubiquitous card as a medium to create dresses, collages, miniature murals, and sculptures, as well as the backs of the MetroCards themselves, advertising artists’ shows and designers.

With a limited production budget, Koolgirlposse designed hexagonal platforms and enclosures to protect the delicate dresses, allowing viewers to see the mannequins in the round (versus four sides). A dark wall color was chosen to offset and contrast the gold cards.
